The III All-Russian scientific-practical conference «International Humanitarian Cooperation: New Challenges and Opportunities» organized by the Mari State University by the assistance of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola and by the support of the Association of Russian Diplomats took place in MarSU in Yoshkar-Ola.

Deputy Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, member of the Association of Russian Diplomats Mikhail Khorev, Vice Consul General of China in Kazan Cheng Wei, and Consul of the Consulate General of China in Kazan Tian Zhi were special guests of the conference.

Rector of MarSU Mikhail Shvetsov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Mari El Republic Mikhail Vasyutin, Vice Consul General of China in Kazan Cheng Wei welcomed the participants of the plenary session of the conference.

Deputy Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Khorev reported on the main directions of development of the Russian foreign policy in the sphere of humanitarian cooperation, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola Larisa Polushina presented the main directions of international humanitarian cooperation of the Mari El Republic at the plenary session of the conference.

In the framework of the conference took place meetings of Russian and Chinese diplomats with the students of MarSU, lectures of M. Khorev for students of the specialty «International relations» at the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication of MarSU. The lecture was devoted to actual issues of international cooperation of Russia with foreign countries in the humanitarian and cultural sphere.

The conference was held in eight sections, in which the participants – students and teachers from Yoshkar-Ola and Kazan – discussed issues of international law, regulation of migration processes, international cooperation in the field of culture and arts, intercultural communication.
