The first meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation between the Republic of Mari El and the Republic of Belarus, chaired by Stanislav Krylov, Minister of Industry, Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Mari El, and Andrei Khmel, Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Belarus, was held in video conference mode.

Prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Mari El and the Republic of Belarus in various spheres were discussed, mutual proposals for further expansion of trade and economic relations were presented, the action plan for the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Mari El and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation from 12.10.2018 was approved during the event.

The musical and poetic evening «Crimean Spring», dedicated to the reunification of Crimea with Russia, organized by the Mari Philharmonic named after Y. Eshpay was held in Yoshkar-Ola.

Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola Larisa Polushina presented the report «Language rights in the context of international protection of human rights» at the XIII All-Russian (with international participation) scientific and practical conference «Languages, Cultures, Ethnos. Formation of the language picture of the world: philological and methodological aspects», held in MarSU, in Yoshkar-Ola.

The photo exhibition «The Land of Fire - Azerbaijan - Odlar Yurdu» and the exhibition of Azerbaijani literature were opened in Yoshkar-Ola in the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Literature and Writing in the Republic of Mari El. The event was organized by the Regional National and Cultural Autonomy of the Azerbaijanis of the Republic of Mari El.

The troupe of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after E. Sapaev from the Mari El Republic made a concert tour in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

On the eve of the Diplomatic workers’ day the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola and the Department of Intercultural Communication of the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication of the Mari State University announced the III International Olympiad «Diplomacy for Peace» dedicated to the Diplomatic workers’ day among school pupils of educational institutions of the states-participants of the CIS.

The contest works will be accepted until March 20, 2021. The results of the competition will be announced on April 1, 2021.

Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola Larisa Polushina took part in the meeting chaired by Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Oleg Mashkovtsev with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry in the Volga Federal District on the occasion of the Diplomatic workers’ day (in video conferencing mode).

The Republican Festival of languages «Lingva-Territory» dedicated to the International Mother Language Day took place in the Mari El Republic.

Representatives of 17 nations of the world presented their languages and cultures during the event.

Presentations and career guidance events of the Volga State University of Technology (VSUT) from the Mari El Republic were held in the cities of Kyrgyzstan. The partner company of VSUT in Kyrgyzstan – the Public Foundation «Moscow Classics» – represented the VSUT in the framework of events.

Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola Larisa Polushina gave as a gift the book-album «Своих не бросаем» («We do not abandon our own») prepared by the TASS news agency and the Russian Foreign Ministry to the National Library named after S.G. Chavayn.
