On the Diplomatic workers’ day in the Mari El Republic

On February 10th the Diplomatic workers’ day is celebrated in Russia. This holiday was established by Russian Presidential Decree № 1279 dated on October 31, 2002 in honour of the 200th anniversary of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola carried out a number of events dedicated to the Diplomatic workers’ day.

 

On February 9th on the initiative of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola took place the opening of the exhibition of documents from the Archive of foreign policy of the Russian Empire and the Archive of foreign policy of the Russian Federation «Symbols of Russian power» in the National Library named after S.G. Chavain.

 

On February 10th in the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola took place the awarding ceremony to winners of the annual competition of creative works among schoolchildren of the Mari El Republic on the subjects dedicated to memorable dates and anniversary events from the history of the national diplomacy and international relations. In this year the competition was dedicated to the next themes:

1. «If I was a diplomat...», dedicated to the 215th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the 15th anniversary celebration of the Diplomatic workers’ day.

2. «Russian diplomacy after the October Revolution», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution of 1917.

3. «Russia and France were destined to be together many centuries ago» (commentator of the French edition Le Point Caroline Galacteros about Russian-French relations), dedicated to the Year of cultural tourism of Russia and France in 2017.

 

Results of the competition of creative works

Competitive works of winners and participants who got a certificate of participation on the jury’s decision were exhibited in the Socio-Political Center of the Mari El Republic.

 

It continues accepting applications for participation on the International essay competition «Diplomacy for Peace», dedicated to the Diplomatic workers’ day, among school pupils of general and secondary vocational educational institutions of the states-participants of the CIS, organized by the Institute of National Culture and Intercultural Communication of the Mari State University by the support of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Yoshkar-Ola.

70 works received for the competition from the Mari El Republic, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Uzbekistan now.

 

Competitive works are accepted till February 12, 2017 inclusive.

The results of the competition will be held on March 1, 2017.
